The Sunday Post is a meme hosted by Kimba the Caffeinated Book Reviewer. ~ Inspired by the meme In My Mailbox.~It’s a chance to share News. A post to recap the past week, showcase books and things we have received and share news about what is coming up for the week on our blog.
Yesterday was the perfect close for a week. We ate the best sushi we’ve ever had, and for the first time in forever I actually ate sushi like I enjoyed it (because I did)…and now I’m sad that I don’t have anymore. Some of my mom’s co-workers came to the bookstore, we had a great time chatting, and they even brought me an awesome gift (I have a picture below). I got to talk Doctor Who, comics, and manga with someone other than my best friend and boyfriend. It was just an awesome day.

Book Themed Candles from Frostbeard Studio – These smell amazing and so true to their names! The shop has a lot more that I want to buy too, like the Doctor Who and Harry Potter themed candles. They also have Outlander, A Song of Ice and Fire, and a ton of others so please go check out their store!
A huge thank you to April and her daughter for buying these for me!!
Purchased
- The Raven Boys by Maggie Stiefvater – A Hardback addition only $2
- Salty Dog by Brad Strickland – .77 cents! I can’t believe I am still able to find these, my collection is definitely growing!
- Thor: God of Thunder #15 – Just missing #4 now! So close to having all of the issues out now
- Ms Marvel #4
- Harley Quinn #10
- Captain Marvel #7
- Rot & Ruin #1 – OMG Rot & Ruin by Jonathan Maberry in comic book form!! YES! It does seem to be different from the books though.
lol – I need a candle that smells like trashy romance novel! Those are pretty cool. Glad you had such a great week. I haven’t had sushi in awhile, but that sounds good now.
Lol, it definitely fits the description.
I’m curious about the book candles- the Shire one, and they have Ice and fire too? Hmm… looks like a good comic haul too. Have a great weekend.
Yep, it’s called Winterfell! I’m hoping they get some more in stock, maybe some House Lannister or Targaryen type candles. Thanks for dropping by Greg!
Those candles are fantastic! I want to know what the difference in smell is between Oxford Library and Trashy Romance Novel!
I loved the Raven Boys and that was a bargain for a Hardback edition. Enjoy your reads and have a great week Michelle.
Ohhhhhhh Rot & Ruin comic? Awesome! The candles look super cool too.
Enjoy and have a fabulous week 😀
Sushi?! YUM. It’s been years since I had that, although my nephew randomly told me he wanted some for lunch. (Like, lol yes I can just whip some up in five minutes. xD) I love The Raven Boys! I’m really really excited for book #3 coming out soon. I seriously cannot read enough of Stiefvater’s books!! My Sunday Post!
Those candles are just so cute.
You know what, I never had sushi, believe it or not. And I do like fish! There is a nice sushi bar in our local mall and my son goes there often, and really should go there and try it out.The Pegster Reads
Those candle’s names are so funny, I hope they smell good. I often make avocado makis at home – I ate them once in a Japanese restaurant and *had* to have my fix at home when I want to ! Have a great week 😉
Sounds like you have had a great week. Love the candles! Enjoy the new books you got.
i love the candles. *whispers* I have never tried sushi.
Oh no! Well I will say that it’s an acquired taste and I don’t think you’ll like it the first time you try it (unless you really love seafood), but it’s worth a try. Go for something simple to begin with like a California Roll.
I was literally staring at the Etsy shop for those candles yesterday trying to work up the courage to buy them! They look amazing and now that I know they smell good too I’m not sure I’ll be able to resist! I haven’t had good sushi in forever but now you’ve got me wanting some! Have a fabulous week!
I enjoyed Raven Boys and hope you do too
I really want to read the Harley Quinn comics. I need to hit up a comic book store and see what I can find. Love the candles; that shop is so cute…it’s items have totally been on my wishlist for awhile now.

I’ve fallen a tad behind on the comics, even though I’m up to date in buying them, but it’s definitely a series that gets better. I do miss her old sense of self but I love that she’s on her own now.
YOu seem excited about that Rot and Ruin comic – I still haven’t read the book book though I own it.
I really enjoyed The Raven Boys so I hope you like it! And those are some cool looking candles!
Lol, just a bit! It’s one of my favorite series, even though I haven’t finished reading them all.
