Tell Me Tuesday #80

I slowed down on reading considerably after finishing The Stand because it put me in a slump which I am currently forcing myself out of.

Last

  • Ahsoka by E.K. Johnston – This turned out to be enjoyable, but not groundbreaking. I really love Ahsoka as a character so it was nice to be able to see what she was up to after The Clone Wars series and before Rebels.
  • Fantastic Beasts and Where to Find Them: Illustrated Edition – I finally took the time to get to this one and liked it! I wasn’t big on some of the artist’s renditions of the creatures as they don’t necessarily match the descriptions, but some of the drawings are stunning.
  • The Stand by Stephen King – UGHHHHHH. I am so glad I am done with this one. I never want to read 1000+ pages of ‘character development’ again. It was entirely too long and the pay off just wasn’t worth it at all.

Now

  • The Sky Woman by J.D. Moyer – I’m not far into this but I am enjoying it. It’s set in the future where the Earth has far fewer people and they have been set back to a simpler time, the main character is an anthropologist from an outpost sent to study the humans on Earth.
  • A Higher Loyalty by James Comey – I don’t read a ton of non-fiction that can skew anywhere near political, and I’m always hesitant to share it with others when i do for fear they assume political biases I don’t have. But this one fits a NEWTs prompt and it was available for me to borrow. So far I’m enjoying it quite a bit, it’s less political and more a look at Comey’s career and interactions with the people he has worked with, presidents included.

Ugh I hate slumps. I was in a slump sorta because my current read was boring me, but luckily I finished and can now resume my regularly scheduled reading… hopefully.

    Ahsoka looks good.

  2. Is The Stand a standalone? 😱T

Baz still owes me that illustrated Fantastic Beasts from Mother’s Day. Ha ha. He’s gotten in a habit of shopping once and giving me all three yearly presents (Mother’s Day, Birthday, Xmas) for Christmas, or our version of Christmas, anyway. 😝

I hope you can shake your slump. 👍

    Thanks for TMTing. 💜
