The Face Behind the Blog…

Hi! I’m Michelle, I’m currently 28 and I was raised in the country of Georgia (US), where I learned to love small, quiet towns and being alone. I used to own my own used bookstore in my hometown called Dog-Eared Books, and have had experience reviewing for newsletters and other group publications.

What does In Libris Veritas mean and why did I choose it?

In Libris Veritas roughly translates into In Books there is Truth. I got the idea from a song called In Vernere Veritas from my favorite band HIM and the more I thought about it the more I found it to be true. So, in short, it has really nothing to do with me personally unless you count the fact that I love being overly complicated.

Why read and blog?

Other than the usual excuse of boredom it’s simply because I love books. I grew up in a family that had books scattered throughout the house and because of the ease of access I simply picked up the family habit. Now, however, my habit exceeds that of my family and it continues to grow, as does my addiction to buying books. I figured that since I read a lot I would also like to help others find good books (or in some cases give them some warning).

Hi Michelle, nice to meet your acquaintance on Twitter and WordPress! It seems like we have a similar taste in games and books. Look forward to reading more πŸ˜€

    • Hi Jeann, it’s nice to meet you too! It’s rare that I run across other gamers in the book blogger community. πŸ™‚ Looking forward to seeing more of your reviews and chatting with you.

Yeah, guess us book bloggers are reading so much that we barely have anytime for another hobby! What games are you playing at the moment? I just started Starcraft 2: Heart of the Swarm.

      • Probably! My boyfriend just finished that one and really enjoyed it. I’m working my way through The Cave, which is platforming puzzle game. It’s really quirky and bit dark at times. I almost finishing up the Mass Effect 3 Citadel dlc.

I love your banner saying ‘In Libris Veritas!’ I love the meaning of the words so much – In books there is truth. I see so many quotes around the blogging community about how great reading is because it is escaping from the real world, but I always find the best books are ones that take me further INTO it and that those are the ones that truly move me. I think when I originally started reading properly as a teenager it was truth I was searching for in books.

Hey, Michelle! My name is Aya, and I am a fellow book blogger. I was wondering if you’d be interested in participating in a small project that I am doing. I wanted to ask a bunch of bloggers (49, to be exact :p), to give me one of their favorite book quotes. I’m going to compile them all in one post and then post it on my blog on the 22nd of this month. It’d be fantastic if you would be a part of this. Just let me know by this Wednesday please, so that I have plenty of time to compile and/or ask someone else. Thank you!

    • I would love to help out!! Hmm, now which one to pick…

Thank you for stopping by! I hope you enjoyed it, leave a comment and tell me what you think.
